Customer Qualifications

  • Possession of our catalog price list does not grant you the ability to purchase.
  • You should be properly licensed to do business by your local government.
  • You should have a resale tax number and have the appropriate form on file with us.
  • You will have “opened an account” and will have been assigned a customer number.
  • You will have knowledge of our terms and policy and will have agreed to honor them.

Supplies

  • We have given each supply item an item number. Please order by the item number.
  • Supplies are not to be returned without our specific consent.
  • Returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
  • Items purchased 30 days or older can not be returned.
  • Items not in original factory wrapping can not be returned.
  • Items purchased as specials or closeouts can not be returned.
  • The customer pays the actual shipping charges on supplies.

Equipment

  • Equipment sales are final. There are no returns on equipment purchases.
  • If the equipment sold has a defect or is missing a part you will need to make the claim with the manufacturer.
  • We will assist you with your claim if necessary.
  • The customer pays the actual shipping cost on equipment.
  • A down payment is required on equipment purchases, and the balance is due upon receipt. This will be set up at the time of sale.
  • We do not offer terms on equipment sales.

Mat Board

  • We use Bainbridge and Crescent mat numbers.
  • Please separate the brands when ordering and use their numbers in the likelihood of duplicate numbers.
  • Mat board is not to be returned without our specific consent.
  • No cut mat board will be accepted for return in case of wrong item.
  • Returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
  • Items purchased 30 days or older cannot be returned.
  • The customer pays the actual shipping charges on mat board.

Length Moulding

  • You should expect some variation in color and finish in mouldings. We will not replace moulding because of these variations.
  • Wood and metal may be combined for discounts.
  • Length is sold in full “sticks” only.
  • When ordering less than a stick, we will try to fulfill the order with the shortest full stick available. Example; if you ordered 6 feet of a pattern and there is nothing available in the rack at 6 feet we will pull you the closest full stick above the size ordered and you will be billed for and get that.
  • When ordering footage requiring more than one stick, we will fulfill the order as close as possible with the sticks on hand and will not underfill the order. Example; if you order 32 feet of a pattern and the sticks are all 10 feet, then you will be billed for and get 40 feet.
  • Discontinued patterns or promotionally priced patterns may not be accumulated for quantity discounts.
  • When using UPS for shipping, it is necessary to indicate your cutting instructions so it may best fulfill your requirements. If not instructed we will automatically cut as follows:

    12 foot moulding into 7 and 5 feet
    11 foot moulding into 6 and 5 feet
    10 foot moulding into 6 and 4 feet
    9 foot moulding into 5 and 4 feet.

    UPS will only take lengths up to 8 feet. Any package over 84" (length plus girth) is automatically charged as a minimum of 30 pounds; if the package is less than 70 pounds it will be weighed at 70 pounds, regardless of actual weight. Anything over 130”( length plus girth) or over 150 pounds cannot be shipped via UPS. Any package over 60” also has a $5.00 UPS handling charge added.
  • Customer pays actual shipping charges.
  • A $5.00 packing fee will be charged on length orders totaling less than $50 plus actual shipping charges.
  • We will keep back orders on file and call when the moulding returns to stock for shipping instructions.

Chop Service

  • When ordering, give the quantity, moulding number and size, preferably in that order.
  • Frames are cut with a standard 1/8” allowance unless otherwise requested.
  • Footage is computed by adding 8 times the moulding width to the rabbet perimeter. Total footage will be rounded to the next higher half foot.
  • Double rabbet mouldings, unless specified otherwise, will be cut to the bottom rabbet.
  • A minimum of 4 feet will be charged on each frame.
  • You should expect some variation in color and finish in mouldings relative to your sample. We will not replace frames because of these variations.
  • Inspect immediately for shipping damage.
  • Inspect for flaws.
  • Verify sizes and numbers.
  • Do not join a frame if any of the above is evident, for we do not accept returns of chopped frames which have been joined.
  • We pay shipping charges on chops; however, on orders less than $60 there will be a $6.50 service charge.

Joined Frames

  • We will assemble frames. This service requires extra time. Usually an extra 2 days.
  • The joining charge is based on the list chop price.
  • If the chop is $24 or less the joining charge is $6. Over $24 add 25% to the chop price.
  • The customer pays the shipping cost on joined frames.

Thumbnailed Frames

  • We will thumbnail frames. This service usually requires no extra time.
  • The charge for thumbnailing frames is $3 per frame including the wedges.
  • The shipping charges are the same as for chops. The cost of thumbnailing is not used toward free shipping.

Credit Policy

  • New accounts having done no business with RMD will be on COD for a period of 90 days. Credit limit after 90 days is $500. If there is a pending order that takes the account over the credit limit the account will be asked to pay down the balance so the order can be processed.
  • Established accounts are ones that have done business with RMD for a year with a good payment record. Credit limit for an established account is $1500. If there is a pending order that takes the account over the credit limit the account will be asked to pay down the balance so the order can be processed.
  • Our terms are net 30 days. For the account to remain current you must have paid us within thirty days from the invoice date.
  • There is a $30 service charge each time an “NSF” check is processed.
  • We charge 1 1/2% interest rate on overdue balances.
  • Discounts will be disallowed if the account is not current.
  • In any referral for collection or action against the customer for monies due the company, upon recovery by the company, the customer shall pay the expenses of collection and/or including a reasonable attorney fee.

Payments

  • You may pay by check, money order or cash.
  • We accept Visa and MasterCard. This can be handled over the phone if desired.
  • We can keep your card number on file and handle payments as required.
  • You may pay our delivery driver.

Return Policy

  • Merchandise is not to be returned without our specific consent.
  • Credit for a return will be issued once the item has been checked in by RMD.

Claim Procedures

  • Always check incoming package count against either a lading bill, or invoice list.
  • If shortage or damage occurs on truck freight, the bill of lading must be signed off short or damaged and you must file a claim with the freight company.
  • UPS shortages may be detected when compared to the invoice list.
  • Wait at least one day for the late arrival of a missing package before advising us of a shortage.
  • We will assist you in any way we can in making a claim.

Prices and Disclaimers

  • Because of the uncertain monetary and market conditions, we cannot guarantee the prices shown in our catalog.
  • All merchandise will be invoiced at the lowest prices prevailing at time of shipment.
  • RMD is a distributor for many manufacturers. We cannot assume responsibility for printing errors, product statements and descriptions.
  • Responsibility is solely with the manufacturer or his assigns.
  • We have made every effort possible to insure the accuracy of our catalog and price lists.

Our Web Site

On the home page of our website you can quickly access a variety of useful information. You can easily identify a moulding from its number. You can search for mouldings in specific widths, colors/tones, and rabbet depths.

We have created a temporary out-of-stock listing that either pictures the moulding or will list them so you may print them out. The idea behind this is to keep your sales staff up to date, so at the sales counter when designing, a quick glance will let them know whether the moulding has an extended out of stock date that will not work for your customer. It will show the expected due date. This hopefully will keep you from having to call your customer back in for a redesign.

We have also created a discontinued section that will either picture or list the discontinued mouldings. We also show if there is inventory or if the inventory is sold out. This feature is also true when you type in a moulding number in the general moulding search box. The information will include whether it is a discontinued moulding and if there is inventory or not.
